Council consists of select group of employee benefits practitioners
Leonard, Street and Deinard shareholder Jeffrey P. Cairns was recently elected to the Great Lakes Area Tax Exempt/Government Entities (TE/GE) Council. In addition, after many years of service, Leonard, Street and Deinard shareholder Angela M. Bohmann assumed emeritus status with the Council.
The IRS Great Lakes Area TE/GE Council was established in January 2001 and consists of a select group of benefit practitioners who represent taxpayers in the seven states covered by the Great Lakes Area of the Internal Revenue Service TE/GE Division. The Council opens and maintains lines of communication between the IRS Great Lakes Area TE/GE Division and the practitioner community in regard to tax policies and procedures related to employee benefit matters, including emerging issues under the Health Care Reform legislation.
Jeffrey Cairns is a shareholder attorney in Leonard, Street and Deinard’s employee benefits and compensation practice group. He advises employers, consultants and investment professionals on ERISA and employee benefit matters, including qualified and nonqualified pension and profit sharing plans, ESOPs, welfare, fringe benefit and executive compensation plans.
Angela Bohmann is an attorney and chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard’s employee benefits and compensation practice group.
