The article highlights 10 areas for plan fiduciaries to be aware of in their role to help prevent mistakes, given their great responsibilities and demands placed on them by the ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), including; 'not following the plan’s definition of compensation for purposes of determining ­contributions or benefits and nondiscrimination­ testing; failure to read the plan document; not monitoring funds on a regular basis and not seeking the help of experts.'
