Leonard, Street and Deinard shareholders Mary Schwind and Rob Smith were recently elected chair and secretary respectively of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) Construction Law Section.

The section comprises attorneys practicing in all areas of construction law, both plaintiff and defense counsel in commercial and residential construction. The section also has a legislative subcommittee that monitors state and national legislation affecting the practice of construction law.

"I'm honored to serve the section and to represent construction attorneys to the MSBA," Schwind says. "In these challenging economic times, the importance of the Construction Law Section is magnified. Now more than ever, we need to share information with our members and with other areas of the Bar Association."

Schwind and Smith will assume their roles July 1.
