Leonard, Street and Deinard litigators among one-half of 1% of trial attorneys inducted into litigation honor society
Leonard, Street and Deinard shareholders Lawrence J. Field and Todd A. Noteboom have been inducted as Fellows to the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), one of the nation's premier honor societies for trial attorneys. They will be inducted tonight during a special ceremony in conjunction with the organization's fall conference in Charleston, South Carolina.
Fellows are nominated and evaluated by the LCA's advisory board, other Fellows, a limited number of active and retired judges, and reviews of acknowledgement by third-party sources. Each year, only one-half of 1% of all trial attorneys nationwide are invited into the Fellowship based on effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.
Field concentrates his practice on the areas of complex business litigation, securities and class action litigation, and shareholder and partnership disputes. He has been lead defense counsel in 12 class actions in five states since 2003. He has tried to verdict 16 bench trials, jury trials and arbitrations where the amount in dispute exceeded $1 million, and five matters where the amount in controversy was more than $20 million. In addition to numerous smaller matters, Field has represented several Fortune 500 companies in cases throughout the country where the amount at issue was more than $100 million.
Noteboom is the chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard's Class Action practice group and its Securities, Financial Services and Broker-Dealer practice group. Noteboom practices principally in the areas of complex business and class action litigation, with particular emphasis in the areas of securities litigation/arbitration and financial services litigation. He and the firm were recently selected to handle the national class action litigation for one of the largest financial services companies in country.
