Minnesota False Claims Act: What You Need to Know

Effective July 1, 2010, the Minnesota False Claims Act will require accurate claim submissions for contracts with the state of Minnesota and all local governments. This new law prohibits contractors, subcontractors, engineers and architects from “knowingly” asking for payments to which they are not entitled from the state or its political subdivisions. The law levels penalties for inflating requests and claims and for falsely certifying compliance with prevailing wage laws and other contract requirements. You may be surprised at the host of other elements also covered by the Act.

  • What the Act means to the construction, engineering and architectural industries.
