Careers

Leonard, Street and Deinard's Summer Associate program is designed to give law students a realistic, on-the-job portrayal of daily life as an associate attorney. Our program features many unique components that set us apart from other firms.

Professional Experience

Summer associates assume a realistic caseload, managing multiple cases at a time.  They engage in current client matters and in pro bono legal service. They receive feedback and coaching from seasoned attorneys.

Professional Development

Summer associates participate in professional development through the firm's Deinard University curriculum. They are able to attend the same learning opportunities as our attorneys. They also work closely with a legal writing coach to hone their drafting and analysis skills.

Networking

Because it is important for law students to network with their peers and practicing attorneys, we make a variety of social events an essential part of the framework of our Summer Associate program. Students have kayaked on Lake Calhoun, cheered on the Minnesota Twins, assisted in rennovating a home with Hearts and Hammers, raced go karts, and spent ample time getting to know our attorneys outside the office.
