Kevin Conneely practices in the area of intellectual property litigation including patent, trademark and copyright trials and arbitrations, and in general commercial litigation including antitrust, contract and business torts.
Kevin has represented clients and tried cases in state and federal courts throughout the country. Over the past 25 years, Kevin has handled a diverse case load and has appeared in state and federal trial courts, arbitration proceedings, and appeals.
Kevin has led clients of all sizes through intellectual property disputes in a broad array of industries, such as consumer goods, software and communications, medical devices, business methods, and nutritional supplements. While he has handled IP cases through trials and appeals, he also counsels clients to seek sensible business solutions before suit and at each step along the litigation path.
Kevin serves the firm and the practicing bar as well. He is the Practice Group Leader for Leonard Street’s IP Group, and he chairs the firm’s Appellate Practice Committee. He serves as an adjunct faculty instructor in trial advocacy for William Mitchell College of Law, and he is an active instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Kevin recently assisted the Minnesota Federal Bar Association in a Patent Litigation Study Group that made improvement recommendations for patent cases adopted by the court. He is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation’s Grant Review Committee and is also a regular CLE speaker on IP and litigation topics.
As a seasoned patent litigator, Kevin is well-suited and ready to represent clients in the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s new post-grant review (PGR) and inter-partes review (IPR) contested case proceedings, in conjunction with the IP Group’s registered patent attorneys.
Kevin has repeatedly been named among The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of intellectual property litigation and patent litigation. He has also been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers® since 2008.
