Rising StarsElizabeth advises and represents clients in state and federal court matters nationally, focusing her practice in the areas of Construction Law and Commercial and Business Litigation. She currently serves as the Assistant Chair of the Construction Law practice group. Her Construction practice is varied, including mechanic’s lien foreclosure actions, energy retrofit and guaranteed savings contracts, construction and design defect litigation, delay and disruption, and payment bond claims. Elizabeth consistently presents on various construction issues to trade groups and design professionals, including an annual presentation at the South Dakota AIA convention and presentations through her involvement in the National Association of Women in Construction.
On the Commercial and Business Litigation side, she has represented clients accused of Fair Debt Collection Practices and Fair Credit Reporting Act violations; engaged in banking litigation, closely held corporate dissolution, foreclosure and receivership matters, wrongful foreclosure defense; and, generally, handled a wide variety of contract disputes. Following through on a growing professional interest, Elizabeth has also expanded her appellate practice.
Elizabeth has repeatedly been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers®-Rising Stars, and has also served as a moot court legal writing instructor for the University of Minnesota Law School.
Prior to starting her practice, Elizabeth clerked for the Honorable Terry Hallenbeck (ret.) in St. Louis County, Minnesota.
A performer at heart, Elizabeth trained as a classical vocalist, spending a good deal of her pre-law years performing in opera theater, soloing with small and large ensembles, and giving recitals. The creative, performance and collaboration skills Elizabeth honed on stage continue to serve her well as a successful litigator.
