David Crosby is assistant chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard’s Litigation Division and head of the firm’s Business and Commercial Litigation practice. Since joining the firm in 1993, David has focused his practice on complex commercial disputes. He has extensive experience in the areas of trust and estate litigation, contract litigation, franchise and dealer litigation, antitrust and shareholder disputes. The scope of these cases has ranged from litigating billion-dollar family trust disputes to defending large software manufacturers in multidistrict class actions. He has also successfully handled numerous federal and state court appeals for clients.
David has been selected several times for inclusion in Super Lawyers®-Rising Stars and has been named among The Best Lawyers in America in trusts and estates litigation. He also has an AV® peer review rating (highest level of professional excellence) from Martindale-Hubbell.

Experience
Representative Matters
- Counsel to three beneficiaries in litigation involving family trusts valued at more than one billion dollars. Successfully obtained judgment in favor of clients confirming their status as beneficiaries of the trusts.
- Pursued and defended numerous claims against corporate and individual trustees involving claims of breaches of fiduciary duty and trust mismanagement.
- Represented major software manufacturer in several-week consumer class action antitrust trial in Minnesota state court.
- Represented plaintiffs and defendants in numerous franchise / distribution disputes, including cases involving state franchise and dealer protection statutes.
