Allison Tumilty practices in the area of Employee Benefits and Compensation. She works with employers, including public, private and tax-exempt entities, on the legal requirements surrounding their retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, deferred compensation plans and executive compensation arrangements.
Advising employers on their employee benefit programs, Allison delves into state laws, federal laws such as ERISA, USERRA and FMLA, and the Internal Revenue Code. She works with employers on their welfare benefit plans in the areas of health, vision, dental and disability, and she directs compliance with COBRA, HIPAA and 2010’s health care reform acts.
In addition, Allison works with employers to draft, maintain or terminate tax qualified retirement savings plans, including 401(a), 401(k), 403(b) and other tax qualified plans. Some of her clients include sponsors of Taft-Hartley plans.
In the area of compensation, Allison drafts and amends non-qualified deferred compensation plans and advises employers on other executive compensation issues.
Allison’s practice also includes providing assistance in corporate mergers and acquisitions. She has performed due diligence reviews on U.S. and international deals, and has assisted in cloning post-acquisition benefit plans.
